This June 19^th, a.k.a. Juneteenth, the holiday celebrating the end of slavery in the United States, Oakland’s International Longshore & Warehouse Union (ILWU) Locals 10, 34, 75 and 91 invite all to a day of solidarity and resistance in their city.

Organized by the Committee to Stop Police Terror and End Systemic Racism, the Oakland effort is part of a nationwide action that will see the closure of 29 West Coast ports on Juneteenth. In Oakland, a march from SSA Terminal at the Port of Oakland (1717 Middle Harbor Road) to the city hall building at 1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza will begin after an opening rally at 10am. A rally to close out the action will begin at 1pm at Ogawa Plaza.
