Peace and Freedom Party members: PFP and the state of California need your help! The deadline to apply for the 2020 Citizens Redistricting Commission has been extended to Monday, August 19, and the Peace and Freedom Party is seriously underrepresented among the applicants thus far; this 14-person commission will include four voters who are not registered Republican or Democrat.

A few details are provided in a letter sent to the PFP State Central Committee, the text of which runs below. Click here for more on the 2020 Citizens Redistricting Commission or click here to go straight through to ShapeCaliforniasFuture.auditor.ca.gov to get started on the process!

*Please note that Peace and Freedom State Central Committee members are not eligible to apply.

To Whom It May Concern:

I’m reaching out on behalf of the California State Auditor about the 2020 Citizens Redistricting Commission. We’d like to explore opportunities in which we can partner with the Peace and Freedom Party of California and its County Central Committees and Chapters to spread the word about the opportunity to apply to serve on the Commission and be a part of drawing the Congressional, State Senate, State Assembly and State Board of Equalization districts during this next term.

The California State Auditor began accepting applications for the 2020 Citizens Redistricting Commission on June 10. Since then, we’ve received nearly 3,300 applications but only 3 eligible applicants from throughout the State have identified as a member of the Peace and Freedom Party. We need your help to spread the word to ensure more Californians apply for this once-in-a-decade opportunity before the August 9 deadline.

Thanks,

Cami Crawford
on behalf of the California State Auditor
