The Alameda County PFP Executive Committee urges people who live in Albany, Alameda, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, Piedmont, San Leandro, and any other parts of the district to write in Laura Wells, a Green Party member, for U.S. Representative, 13th Congressional District in the June 5 primary election.
This seat is currently held by Barbara Lee, a Democrat who is running unopposed for re-election. The write-in candidate who receives the most votes in the June primary will be on the November ballot. Please write "Laura Wells" in the blank square under United States Representative, and draw a line to connect the arrow on the right so that your vote will be counted.
The odds that Barbara Lee will win in November are about 99.99%. The question is, what will be argued in public debate with Barbara Lee in the fall campaign season?”
In addition to Laura Wells, there are three candidates who have taken out papers to have their write-in votes counted in the June primary: a little-known Republican, a Libertarian, and a candidate with no party preference. We are confident that Laura Wells comes closest to representing the political views of our party.
The Alameda County Central Committee will be voting on this endorsement at its May 20th meeting. It is almost certain to vote for endorsement, which would make the PFP endorsement of Laura Wells for 13th Congressional District official. In the meantime, we want people voting early to write in her name. And don’t forget to connect the arrow.
