The Venice Chapter of the Peace and Freedom Party holds a weekly peace vigil under the slogan "Peace in Iraq, Justice in Venice" every Friday starting at 5 p.m. at the Venice Traffic Circle, Main St. and Windward Ave. in the heart of Venice. SACRAMENTO. Members of the Peace and Freedom Party in Sacramento participate in two local peace vigils in the downtown area: Every Tuesday from 4 to 6 pm at 16th St. and J Street, and every Wednesday from 4 to 5 pm at 15th St. and L St. State Chair Debra Reiger (address below) can provide information on other party activities in the Sacramento area. Some future activities include tabling at Whole Earth Day at U.C. Davis on May 12 and 13, and at Earth Day at C.S.U. Sacramento on April 21.

SAN DIEGO. San Diego Peace and Freedom Party does a lot of tabling at local events, and helps organize many of them. Janice Jordan was a speaker and panelist at the December 2006 Human Trafficking Forum, telling 150 people about the need to fight the US corporations that profit from human trafficking.

On Presidents Day, February 19, P&F will have a table at the Bob Marley Day Music Celebration at the IPAY Center, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd, San Diego, from noon to 6 pm.

On March 3 P&F and the Theresa Azochar Chapter of the California Coalition for Women Prisoners will co-sponsor an International Women's Day vigil at Las Colinas, 9000 Cottonwood, Santee, from 8 am to 6 pm.

TULARE. County Chair Lynn McGivern has been asked to join the board of the new ACLU chapter for Fresno, Tulare and Madera Counties.
