Resolution adopted by the State Executive Committee of the Peace and Freedom Party on January 9, 2011.
There are many alarming disclosures within the WikiLeaks documents which deserve scrutiny and further investigation. It is therefore all the more outrageous that instead of investigating what has been uncovered, the U.S. Government has, instead, focused its vast resources on an attempt to silence the alleged "whistle-blowers".
The Peace and Freedom Party stands in support of Julian Assange, who is now under House Arrest in England, and Bradley Manning - currently being held - on the basis of hearsay evidence - in solitary confinement in a military prison in Quantico, Virginia. We support all calls for their freedom. We condemn the attacks and threats against Assange and Manning and renew our defense of the right to free speech and a free press.
