Peace and Freedom Party opposes threats against SEIU-UHW

The Peace and Freedom party of California opposes the threats by President Andy Stern of the Service Employee Employees International to place SEIU United Healthcare West UHW in trusteeship because of their criticism of corporatism and labor management sweetheart deals that the Stern administration are making.

We also support the SEIU-UHW and SMART program of one person, one vote and the right fo SEIU members to vote on all contracts, bargaining committee members and for the election by the rank and file of the international officers and local officers of the SEIU.

Passed by the State Central Committee of the California Peace and Freedom Party on 30-March-2008.

Voter Registration

In California, voter registration is very important to political parties. The very existence of a political party as "ballot-qualified" is determined by the number of votes its statewide candidates receive or by the number of voters registered with the party. As the only feminist socialist political party on the California ballot, it is imperative that the Peace and Freedom Party continues as a qualified party. Quite simply, the Peace and Freedom Party will not be able to provide Californians with candidates that will represent us unless we register and vote Peace and Freedom.
